The Africa Volunteer Service Initiative (AVSI)

Operation ReachBack, Inc. owns to a special responsibility to Africa. As the common "motherland" for all citizens of African heritage, its needs provide a gratifying opportunity for service.

Those who participate in the Africa Volunteer Service Initiative (AVSI) provide the three "T's": time (usually two to three weeks), talent, and tickets.

While serving in Africa, the hosts provide the three "D's": dining, dwelling, and driving (in other words, all living expenses). Among the countries served in Africa are Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
