History
Operation ReachBack began in 1994. It developed from a project that involved twenty-one individuals who were asked to contribute articles dealing with the history and state of Black Seventh-day Adventists as we approached the 21st century.
These individuals were invited to a conference in the fall of that year in Nashville, TN where they presented their article outlines. The invitation was given to the general SDA public to attend and critique the submissions.
The result was an enthusiastic gathering of concerned persons from around the country. The response was so lively that we decided to meet annually for similar conversation and fellowship.
In addition, the decision was made to structure an organization to foster projects suggested by the materials contained in the book titled, "Black Seventh-day Adventists Face the 21st Century".
